About our club

About the San Clemente Rotary Club

The San Clemente Rotary Club is part of the
world-wide Rotary International organization.
Our club was founded in 1946 with sixteen
members and has served the San Clemente
community with distinction ever since. Today
we have 60+members who are representative
of the community and business leaders that
are members of Rotary Clubs throughout the
world. We meet each week on Wednesday Noon at Irons in the Fire restaurant at the San Clemente Municipal golf course. We strive to make our meetings informative, educational and most of all fun.

What does the Rotary Club do ?

San Clemente Rotary serves the community
in a variety of ways. We sponsor a number
of major projects such as the Dixieland Jazz
by the Sea Festival and the annual Mardi Gras party both of which provide revenue that enables the club to fund its charity donation program. We also have a variety of "hands on" projects suchas the Character Counts Fair, and the San Clemente High School Wrestling Tournament.
The club's major international project is the
funding of a desperately needed dental clinic
in a small rural community in Guatemala

Club Charities

San Clemente Rotarians support local and
international communities both physically and
financially through their charitable donations and "hands on" volunteer efforts. Last year, our club donated in excess of $100,000 to a variety of charities, community activities and high school scholarships. click for more

Rotary Friendship

While the focus of Rotary is community and
international service, an important aspect of
Rotary is the fellowship which is developed in
the club. The club offers numerous social
opportunities for members such as our annual
Valentine and Christmas party. Almost all San Clemente Rotarians count their fellow club members among their closest friends.

San Clemente Rotary Foundation

The San Clemente Rotary Foundation is a
501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization
which makes scholarship awards and
charitable grants to local community and
charity organizations.The San Clemente Rotary Club is the primary source of funds for the Foundation. The Foundation also receives financial support from individuals and firms.
Donations to the Foundation are exempt from federal and state taxes to the extent of the
law.
